
The Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources issued the "Monthly Bulletin of Industry and Mining" for April 2023, which highlights the key figures and indicators for the industrial and mining sectors in the Kingdom.
It emphasizes the extent of changes occurring in both sectors, particularly in terms of new and ongoing investments, as well as changes in job opportunities.
According to the bulletin issued by the National Industrial and Mining Information Center, the total investment in the industrial sector exceeded 1.4 trillion riyals, and the total number of factories reached 10,873 factories.
The bulletin also indicated that the number of active mining licenses in the sector by the end of April 2023 stood at 2,336 licenses, including: 1,454 building materials quarry licenses, 634 exploration licenses, 180 mining and small mine exploitation licenses, 36 exploration licenses, and 32 surplus mineral resource licenses.
The bulletin further mentioned that the number of new industrial licenses issued by the ministry from January 2023 to the end of April 2023 reached 385 licenses, with investments amounting to 14 billion riyals. During the same period, 314 factories started production operations with investments totaling 8.105 billion riyals.
It also indicated that the sector created more than 29,000 jobs during the same period, including more than 15,000 jobs for Saudi nationals. The total number of actual employees in the sector by the end of April 2023 reached 726,750 workers.
