
His Excellency, Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, held several meetings and bilateral talks with a number of ministers and international officials participating in the third edition of the International Mining Conference 2024, hosted by the Kingdom at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh.
He met with His Excellency Mr. Alparslan Bayraktar, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, His Excellency Mr. Alexander Kozlov, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of Russia, Her Excellency Ms. Pimpatra Wetchayakool, Minister of Industry of Thailand, and Dr. Gerd Müller, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
The meetings focused on discussing various issues related to the industrial and mining sectors, exploring ways to enhance cooperation, exchange experiences and expertise, and support bilateral relations.
It is worth noting that the third edition of the International Mining Conference 2024 will address several key issues, including advancing the future agenda of the sector, dealing with emerging issues that were highlighted in the discussions of the second edition of the conference, particularly those related to mining in the region stretching from Africa to West and Central Asia. Topics will include attracting investments to the mining industries in this region, promoting the use of the most advanced digital technologies in the sector, applying the best sustainability standards, as well as exploring the potential and opportunities of the sector in the Kingdom specifically and the region in general.
