His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, held a series of bilateral meetings with several ministers participating in the third edition of the International Mining Conference 2024, which kicks off on Wednesday at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, with the presence of His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources for Mining Affairs, Engineer Khalid bin Saleh Al-Mudaifer.

His Excellency met with His Excellency the Nigerian Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dile Alak, the Minister of Mines of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Mrs. Antoinette Nsamba Kalambayi, the Zambian Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Mr. Paul C. Kabuswe, and His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik. They discussed ways to develop joint cooperation in the industrial and mining sectors and the increasing global demand for minerals, in addition to discussing promising investment opportunities in the mining sector in the Kingdom.

The meetings also reviewed some of the issues to be discussed during the third International Ministerial Meeting on Mining, which will feature unprecedented participation in terms of the number of ministers, with more than 80 countries confirmed to participate, including 45 countries represented by ministers, in addition to 20 official international organizations, 30 non-governmental organizations, and 13 business federations.

It is noteworthy that the third edition of the International Mining Conference will discuss a number of topics, including advancing the sector's future agenda, addressing the emerging issues focused on in the second edition of the conference, particularly issues related to the mining sector in the region extending from Africa to West and Central Asia, attracting investments for the metal industries in this region, deploying the most advanced digital technologies in the sector, and applying the best sustainability standards.
