His Excellency the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, launched the Human Capital Development Strategy in the industrial and mining sectors and inaugurated the National Industry Academy during the 2024 Human Capital Initiative Conference.

The event is held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center in Riyadh from February 28 to 29, 2024.

The Human Capital Development Strategy in the industrial and mining sectors aims to attract and nurture talents, empower talents and leadership, create an attractive work culture and supportive work environment, enhance productivity and innovation levels, and support the private sector by stimulating and developing human capital.

The strategy aligns with the National Industrial Strategy and is in harmony with Saudi Vision 2030. It helps identify the necessary skills in the industrial and mining sectors, attracts the best talents, develops and enhances workforce productivity, ensures sustainability, and achieves the strategic vision by maintaining the workforce in all industrial and mining sectors through the creation of over 40 initiatives.

It serves as a comprehensive roadmap to study and analyze supply and demand, providing a clear picture of the gaps and challenges in developing human resources in the two sectors.

The National Industry Academy aims to offer direct training programs for both experienced professionals and recent graduates, support current training institutes, provide incentives, facilitate partnerships, and offer unique world-class programs targeting the latest technologies in the industrial sector.

The academy plays a crucial role in achieving the objectives of the Human Capital Development Strategy by supporting and empowering local and international training institutions, providing direct training programs for targeted groups, and acting as a facilitator by connecting training providers, the private sector, and organizers. It aligns its efforts and strategies to enhance the skills of the industrial workforce.

The academy is expected to address several challenges and gaps by playing a pioneering role in coordinating and driving efforts to develop industrial human capital. It will offer 18 programs in collaboration with various training providers.
