As an outcome of the strategy, a specialized unit was established, consisting of a team responsible for guiding the way to enhance investment in the mining sector. This unit undertakes several key tasks, including:
Geological knowledge that supports investment through providing data that is collected to international best practice and using innovative techniques.
Exploration activity accelerated to support strategic and pivotable objectives in the Kingdom’s mining sector.
The capability and capacity of local talent in the mineral exploration and mining sector in the Kingdom.
Exploration: Opportunities in new and emerging areas to expand knowledge of the Kingdom’s exploration potential.
Exploration must focus on Critical Minerals such as Cu, Li, and Ni (Class ‘A’ category of the Mining Investment Law)
Exploration activities must focus on underexplored areas or underexplored critical minerals.
The applicant/investor must have a valid exploration license where the tenure is less than five years in duration.
The investor/applicant must have relevant exploration expertise and track record in greenfield exploration.
The applicant/investor must contribute to the development of local Saudi talent during the program period.
The applicant/investor will make a commitment to using local providers for services and contracts.
